I need the part number for brake shoes for my 69 GS. I have drums all around. The guy in the auto parts store said his system only showed the shoe dimensions for 70. Are they all the same? Aren't the front shoes different than the rears?
Ken, presuming '68-'69 are the same, I come up with front: ACDelco- 17246R Wagner PAB246 Wagner PAB246R (riveted) rear: ACDelco - 17246R (hmmm, I see part numbers 242,245, and 246 across the brands here not sure what's up?) Wagner PA242D Wagner PA242DR I use oreillyauto.com for looking up stuff like this. it is usually pretty reliable. dewey
Thanks guys. I called NAPA today, and they said for the 69 it's 9" x 2 1/2" for the front and 9" x 2" for the rear. It's only a half inch in length but I wonder if it matters. o No: I already have a set of Bendix shoes in the basement that I never used. I think they are for the rear. I bought them about 20 years ago. They have never been out of box except to look at. I should measure them (and perhaps use them) ou: I will need the fronts though for sure. By the way, is it hard to replace wheel cylinders? Figured I might while I'm at it since they are old, old old.
