69 floor console

Is there any way of painting and getting some of the pitting out of the 69 console.

 

Anyone, I was refering to the silver area? Or mabey it cant be done?

 

I have one that need repainted and did not know what silver to use. Mine does not have a lot of pitting and was not sure of how to fix other than to sand and use a small drill bit to remove the pit and then use filler maybe an all metal that is silver in color. then prime with self etching primer and paint. Thought I would try the silver used on some Buick tail light areas and moulding. Argent silver I think it is called, not sure if is spelled it correct. Thanks Bill.

 

I've got one that needs restoration and was planning to do exactly what Bill described.
