Most likely a stupid question, but here it goes... Does a floor shift console out of a 69 Skylark fit a 70 Skylark? I doubt the floor pans changed between the year(s), but just want to make sure it'll fit flush without having to modify it.

Form and funtion are the same ... look is incorrect. That one does not include a shifter/handle. Also, as he stated, the chrome piece foward of the shifter (potmetal piece) is pitted. He is listing the 68/69 shifter in another auction but the inside slider looks to be cracked which will affect its use. Also - he dies not state if the wiring harness is included (assume it is not) which connects to the neutral safety switch as well as the light sockets for inside the console (2 for the shift select quadrant and one for the rear courtesy light).
Meh.. think I ended up buying the wrong console on E-bay a moment ago. Saw the price for $150 as buy it now, with a shifter and jumped on it. Or is this for a chevelle? ...I'll probably end up using it even if it is the wrong one, but I need a shift cable for it. If anyone has one for sale, let me know?
The handle is not for a 70 skylark and from the shape I suspect maybe not a 71-2 skylark either. I am not sure about the body. Look at the console pics on www.Buickperformance.com. You will save your self some grief by just selling any incorrect pieces and buying the correct pieces.
Ok, I've had my coffee now. Makes a world of difference, since I just reread the description and it doesnt come with a shifter. ou: But on the bright side, atleast I didnt get the wrong shifter. Console does look correct tho from what I can tell, just needs the badge inlay for the woodgrain area in the front.
WickedWay, the one I have is for a 73/77 but will fit 70/72 if you trim the one side. It is blue, out of a 75 pace car. The shifter is good missing the clip that brakes, but the handle is good. The console chrome is good the badge inlay is nice. the lid is bad, the body is good but has one broke spot up under by the heater. I am asking $150 plus shipping for all. I was going to put it on the board but had not got to it. Can post pictures if you are interested. Thanks Bill.
