Soccer Mom, in her Minivan, and in what was her third accident of that week, hit my drivers side door - I dove into the car as fast as I could when I saw her headed for me, so she clipped the car and at least didn't kill me.

It seems pretty much that ONLY the door is my problem (just darn lucky the way it crumpled) - but even if it is only the door - if I can't find one anywhere - it might as well be the whole car.

I have been at it a year and a half. (accident was April 07) No luck. Are the convertible doors interchangable with the '68 model year or any other model in that time? I don't believe they are, as the 69 was a bit smaller, and the crease in the door through to the rear quarter panel more pronounced.

I know they made a small number of convertibles that year - and I rarely see a '69 Wildcat anything for sale - can anyone direct me to my best resources to find a door? I'm in the rust belt of PA right now, moving to New Orleans. I am told there are far more cars around of this vintage in the less salt strewn winter roads of the south. But it would be great to have it fixed before the big "drive".

Help - summer #2 has passed and no driving my baby.

Moved thread to this forum that deals with the larger Buick models. You may also want to post in the Parts Wanted section. Good luck, sorry you haven't been able to find a door.

Thank you. This was my very first post (after being a member for two years) so I apologize for the misplacement.

It was the birthday greeting the site sends out that reminded me I had joined the website and thought I should try this gang - but if you look at all posts archived with the word "wildcat" I didn't count even ten for 69 - How rare is this car? They made something like only 2700 of them according to the stat sheets i have seen and - that isn't a lot for 1969 right?

I have been told it was actually the last year for the convertible too - anyone know if that is correct?

The good news is, those doors are the only part of the 69/70 big cars that are not terribly rust prone. The bad news is I scrapped a good door cause it was sitting around:Dou: I think when you find one the price shouldn't exceed $100, as demand for that year big car is low.

You are so right about that - the bottom front door well that is attached to the fender has rusted like mad - its where water runnoff departs the seam...but I cannot complain so much about any other area - and compared to the VW Bug of that day, which was rusting when it rolled off the line - They frequently rusted from weld to weld, where seats frames attached to the floor and underpan -- it looked like a Wile Coyote schtick as I saw more than one seat eventually just drop through to the ground.

I'm not able to use the word "good" anywhere in relationship to this event yet, including the idea that the only part of my car NOT rusted is the part that now CRUSHED, -- but you were offering hope that these doors are still around and it is appreciated.

Still no one has commented if the ONLY option is the same model, same year. It is of course and X frame (convertible) but I read that this was the LeSabre chassis - that impact any other parts - platform assembly was not in use then, but the hope exists there were distinct parts that were interchangable.

    ???Anyone???

I don't know but i'll post and ask - this is a convertible, so even if it will bolt right on, a second question will be if the frame on the window can be sawed off and the track still match for the window.

i have asked this question but haven't any answers

There are no "framed" two door doors for 69/70

I have a 70 cat vert for parts, let me check the doors and see if they are good. I assume a 70 door is the same as a 69. Mike:TU:

I appreciate that you looking into it. From pictures - it sure does look like it will fit.

Does anyone know where I can get the exact dimensions of the door on the 69 wildcat convertible - I do not trust myself to measure it correctly for anyone who asks - and thanks to all who are trying to help.

http://www.dvautoparts.com/ seems to have a good supply of Wildcat parts. I've seen several bumpers, hoods and two almost complete cars there in the recent past.

Wheat Belt Buick http://www.wheatbeltbuick.com/ also has had parts for my car.

My car is in storage waiting for front suspension parts but if I can I'll take some measurements of the doors.

Did you find out - I made some requests to some ofthe referrals members here shared - and stated that I believe the 69/70 Wildcat and LeSabre doors are interchangable - but no one ever answered that query?
