    WickedWay Got Torque?

    1969 Buick Skylark

I've been working on this car over the past year now, and while I dont really want to sell it I've found a building I really want to buy to work out of.

Engine: The motor is an SO code 70 350-2 barrel block that has been professionally bored .030 over with new 8.5:1 compression pistons, heads completely re-done to stock specs with new valves, springs, etc. Crank was turned 10-10, all new bearings. Bottom end has new ARP studs. Has new water pump, belts, hoses, thermostat, etc. Cam is a TA 310 - .499 lift on both intake and exhaust with 232 duration on 110 lobe center. Has headers and a TA Stage 1 intake topped with a Quadrajet 800 CFM carb. Has a MSD coil, new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. Motor has roughly 1,000 miles on it since rebuild, can still see the hone marks if you take the heads off. New motor mounts. Has mechanical Tempertaure, oil pressure, and battery gauges installed. The oil pressure plastic line needs replaced, I suggest a copper line, and the battery gauge is not hooked up. I wanted to replace the wiring harness in the engine compartment, but the origional is still there although I believe it has a short somewhere. Coil has a direct wire running to the dash toggle switch. (See below)

Transmission: The transmission is an ST300 out of a 68 GS 350 that was wrecked. It has new front and rear seals. I've only been able to drive the car once since putting the motor and transmission in, but I noticed the trans seems to be slipping? Went to pass a van, the motor reved up but there was no increase in speed. May just need a new transmission filter? Drive shaft has new u-joints installed. Car still has factory rear open differential, I'm not sure what gears.

Suspension & brakes: The front suspension on this car is new. I replaced the factory front drum brakes with an aftermarket disk brake conversion. The front spindles, bearings, ball joints, tie-rods (both outer and 1 inner), and drag link were replaced with new parts. Rear brakes are all new (Wheel cylinders, spring kits, brake shoes, and drums). Has a new master cylinder on it, and all new brake hoses.

Interior: Origional interior was rough when I got the car. I've stripped out the carpet and seats. Factory steering column was replaced with one out of a 68 GS, and the floor shifter out of the GS was installed along with the bucket seats and rear seat from the GS. Steering column has new grant steering wheel on it. Please note: I was planning on replacing all the wiring on this car. I believe while the car was sitting a mouse has gotten into the harness and some wires are shorted now. The column out of the GS does not have the same wiring as the origional steering column from this car. Car is currently setup for a push button start with a toggle switch to kill power to the coil. I never got around to adding another switch for alternative accessories (radio, etc.) GS console is complete, no damage what so ever. The shifter handle is broken, was that way when I recieved it. Needs to be replaced, the driver side is split in two (outer U bar). It does still work.

Body: The body is in great shape. Floor pans are solid, but the trunk pan does have pinholes with tin riveted over it. Frame rails are straight and solid. Drivers front fender is dented, I'll include another straight fender with the car. Passenger side rear quarter pannel is dented as well, nothing a body guy cant fix within an hour. Core support and front inner fenders are in excellent condition. All glass is good, windshield was replaced last year. Nearly all the chrome is on the car, only piece missing is the small strip on the passenger side rear quarter. Bumpers are replaced with good straight drivers quality bumpers, both front and rear. (Rear bumper hasnt been swapped yet, but is there.) I have a good grill that goes with the car as well.

Below are older pictures of the car, I will take new pictures and post them later today. To complete this car it will need exhaust, possibly rebuilding the transmission (I'm including the TH350 that came with the car.) and wiring fixed. There is no radio with the car, nor any keys or title. I do have a bill of sale. Another board member has seen the car, I'll leave it up to him if he wants to verify the above.

I have over $4,500 invested in this car. Not much compared to some of you, but I believe this is an excellent start. I'm asking $3,000 for the car, and you get everything I have for it. Comes with another camshaft, a comp-cams grind with .464 lift.. I cant remember the rest of the details, cam came out of the motor and has roughly 1000 miles on it. Also included is a SO code shortblock and heads, needs rebuilt. I do have a fan shroud for the car in great condition, along with spare badges.

Car is located in Dickens, TX 79229. I am able to hold the car for as long as needed, in no rush to have it gone. PM me if interested, I will get more pics up asap.

This car has been a pet project for the past year, but I've found a building for sale here that I can work from for a living and would really like to have it. An old gas station right on the highway with two built in stalls. It's been completely remodeled, and includes two brand new two post lifts. Has a huge lot, with the rear half fenced in. Was previously a corvette rebuild shop till the owners husband passed on. :Brow:

I've seen the car. Would buy it if I didn't already have 10 and need to get rid of about 5 of those.

He's a good guy to deal with.

Good luck in selling it. If I cash in on something soon, I might be interested.

    WickedWay Got Torque?

I bought a transmission filter to go with the car, and installed a new set of points. There is no battery for the car. If you want to see a specific picture, just let me know and I will get one. I appologise for the low image quality, but I only have a cell phone available to take pictures with (digital camera wont turn on..) There is not an air cleaner with the car at the moment, never bought one for a 4 barrel setup.

    ..Having problems loading pictures..

The car does come with new front shocks (still in box in trunk). Allready has new shocks installed in the rear. In the pictures there are white steel wheels on the front, I have all 4 for this car. They are steel wheels, 15x7, and have chrome baby moon hub caps for all four currently in the trunk. I had a set of wire wheels for the car, but the front two were stolen.. go figure. Rear two are still on the car. all four tires have 30 miles on them total, thats it.

The car is currently in a heated garage, and will remain there for atleast a few more weeks. Once it's bought it will be moved outside my house, and can remain there for up to six months. Buyers are more than welcome to come look at the car first, I do have a key to the garage.

Pictures linked below. Please note, all outdoor pics are roughly five months old. Car still has the bent front bumper in this picture, bumper has been replaced with a straight one.

I will include the origional front and rear bench seat if desired. They will need to be recovered, both are in poor condition.

Are you really interested with it? I think the price is fair enough. :TU:
