my book says TDC for a stock motor with points. is that correct? motor feels fine at TDC but i might squeeze a couple more degrees out of it once i get a tune up. needs a flamethrower coil and pertronix conversion though. ahhh if only i had the cash :ball:
Do I really have to say it? Set the total advance, who cares about the initial. Stock specs only apply if you are sure the ENTIRE motor and dizzy is stock. How likely is that?
Running 0* of initial or anything around that is STUPID IMO. Your car will idle much better if you can limit your advance to around 16* and use 18* initial advance and 34* total advance.
well its a "new" motor and i havent had the time to play with it. i usually crank the timing up accordingly until i get the best the motor can handle. my 455 loves about 15 degrees of initial
