http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?256060-68riviera430-Adrian-whats-going-on There is $150 I will never see again. Thanks to all the board members who helped, especially Tim (QQ) I have done about 40-50 transactions on this board, it sucks that 1 went sour. Oh well, keep calm and carry on.
At this point I think it would serve your purpose best if he were able to log on as his current ID. Then we'd know at least. Others have been banned only to register a new ID and carry on as usual w/o revealing their identity.
BreakinBuick11 - I understand how frustrating to be taken it is. About 17 years ago, my son whom was 16 at the time, worked and saved all summer long to buy parts from a guy in Indiana. My son sent him a check for $1,600.00 dollars for parts. Parts for a 71 Challenger that he was restoring - and, you guessed he never came through on anything. I got involved and talked to an attorney in Indiana - the attorney said it would cost more than the $1,600.00 to fight him. So, based on the attorneys recommendation the issue was dropped. You can imagine my suprise when a few months ago, this same guy showed up in a major USA Muscle Car Magazine as the centerfold - with a 1970 Hemi......... when I gave the magazine to my son to read - he looked at me as said - "Are you flippin' kidding me? Isn't this the guy that ripped me off for my parts?".. Someday, there will be payback - it may not be in my lifetime -......... but at some point we are all called to answer for our actions. I look forward to that day. Incidently, I toned down my son's response just a little............ buickstaged
That is awful. As I remember awhile back his car was "stolen" and the Buick brethren banded together and donated funds to him. You would think this kid would be more grateful.
WOW i just remembered that... I am almost positive i donated to him. Oh well I am still bitter but 1 bad transaction does not offset the 40+ I have had on this board. The best people are Buick people and they are all on here!
Louie, sorry it didnt work out for you on this one. But its nice to hear you arent going to let it drag on you. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?180250-Buick-fund-for-Adrian-(68Riviera430)-Please-Help!!! What goes around comes around no matter how long it takes.
I have read these threads. It bothers me to the core. I remember when I posted the thread to help him out. He reminded me so much of myself when I was his age at the time his car was stolen. I found his enthusiasm inspirational. I am sorry that this young man did not keep his obligation, I though he was of better character. Although I only new him from the board, I had taken quite an affection to him. I was "proud" of him when he went to Kuwait to start a business adventure. I hope he sees this and makes things right. Regardless of your situation in life, your name and your word might be the only things you have, if you disgrace them, then you truly have nothing.
I would suggest that he may be dead or in jail, but it seems that's not the case as according to google, he was selling a flat screen television on craigslist from Germantown, MD about six days ago though the ad was recently removed. Devon
Lol good detective work Jim and Devon, if anyone wants to voice their displeasure to Adrian that is his active number in the craigslist ad! :TU:
He's also active on Caferacer.net. Last post was back in August. He's also on facebook. Facebook says he's married to Taylor Iman. Says he lives in Germantown Md. I would go on the forum with the latest activity, like caferacer.net and blast him. But thats just me. If Im going to lose $150 bucks, I want my pound of flesh in exchange. If you Google "68Riviera430" he's on alot of forums. I did that with some clown that burned me on a set of wheels.
Yacster, no need to be sorry for another persons actions. You are in no way to blame. I like many others on this board were happy to see these younger guys taking interest in this hobby much less Buicks. I for one think it was very cool of you to start the fund for him to show what good people can do when they share something in common. Hopefully this young man will see the error in his ways. He does owe you and a few others here better than what he has done. But lets not hold our breathe.
Like the Yacster sez, "your name and your word might be the only things you have, if you disgrace them, then you truly have nothing." I think the internet is a great thing for leveling the playing field, and helpful for finding people and their wrongdoings. I personally would NEVER burn anybody on a deal, and NEVER have. I personally don't want to look a thief in the eye in the mirror. Looks like maybe reality may catch up with this guy.
I always thought that kid was full of &^%$ when he was an active member, I hate hear about your loss Louie. Things always will even out.
Tony, nothing to be sorry about, you had no idea of knowing how this kid would turn out. Maybe some of it will come in the form of a Notre Dame national championship? If I remember right your a Bama fan! David vs. Goliath, should be a fun one.
i just recently broke a rod at peak torque in second gear, if i could figure out how to put pics here i would show em . i will accept any donations.
