It seems that there is supposed to be a tensioning cable that runs through both sides of the top and keeps it tight to the frame when in the closed position. The cable on the drivers side is not there. I have a replacement cable but can not see a good way of getting the new cable threaded through the top and fastened to the top frame. Is there a trick to doing this without ruining the top fabric.

    Thanks

Mine was stiff enough to just run through. Our tops should be the same

When you screw the new cable in, make sure you put some foam padding on the screw top somehow- it will rub the top and rip it pretty quickly if you don't
