This Buick rides and drives like a dream. You can barely hear the engine running at a stop sign. My question is: I want to keep that quiet cruiser engine, but I want to try and get more horsepower out of her. I don't want to put in a wild cam that makes her shake at idle or anything. And I don't want flowmasters. I want her to be a sleeper. Is this even possible? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. -Cort
well thats a tough one. you can get a 455 and install a stock style quiet exhaust. There a couple of things you can do to the 350. A nice tune up, put in an MSD ignition system with a performance timing curve. A carb rebuild too. Dual exhaust if not already equipped. Rear end gears could be swapped. You could put in a different cam, not a lopey one though. A stall converter too. Thats a tough one. you will have to comprimise a bit though.
68 ou: Your 68 is a cruiser ....... leave it alone . Gotta love a 68 LeSabre ! :Brow: :Brow: If ya wanna sleeper grab an A body and have fun ... Just my opinion but who am I , a 68 LeSabre has been in my life since 68 .... p Your ride .....
If you used the stock manifolds with 2.5" duals with x pipe and full case mufflers you'll get good flow and moderate sound. Once you go headers the secret is out and the car will be loud.
