While I am detailing my original chrome plated wheels for my GS I put on a set of the Buick "rallye wheels" that were an option for non disc brake cars in '67/'68 and were they only type of rallye available with disc brakes in those years. As far as my research has shown the wheels were painted body color in '68 and not silver as others have said.

So, what do you think, I am starting to like the look.

I think the ralleys look good for something a little different. The chrome wheels look good of course, but they are the most common.

I have the dog dish on mine with 14' steel body color wheels and black walls, and recently added the ralley trim rings. I think that looks pretty cool too. Sorry but I don't have any pics.

I was in the US last week and put it through the gears. It's a great car. Sits for six months at a time and starts right up whenever asked with a strong battery (no current leaks) and drives like a dream. Some guy stopped in the gas station while I was fueling it just to talk about it and admire it. Although the 68-69s aren't considered the most popular among the GS crowd you just don't see them on the road anymore. They certainly do draw attention, especially when people can hear you running through the manual gears up and down.

BigBlock68 Love that old car smell.

Just pick what you think looks best. I like both, but you do see the chrome wheels alot more. And if you really want disc brakes, go with the Rallyes.

I am going to stick with the chrome plated wheels but I do think the other rallyes give it a cool different look. My chrome plated wheels do not have a chrome plated rim, they have a trim ring with a chrome center, not painted. They are a '68 only style rim and are similar to the Super Sport rim first available in '69. The build sheet for my car does show that they are original but the true history of why Buick used them on some cars is a mystery.

Now, how do you think the chrome wheels with redlines would look :Brow:

My rims, note the trim ring and chrome center spokes..
