Some dirtbag sniped the last one that came up, but I don't think it looked anything like that cheapie rubber hose. It had a Z-11 style duct from the air cleaner and attached to the firewall with a short hose. Maybe that's an incomplete kit...Dan

The kit on ebay is missing two steel rings that I am not sure what they were for since there was no reference to them in the instructions. That "rubber" hose is correct for that kit.

As for the air cleaner, the kit came with a template for cutting a hole in your firewall :eek2: and one in your air cleaner. No Air cleaner was supplied with the kit.

I think that kit is way over priced but who knows :Do No: I would like to have one for display purpose only since it is pretty rare.

I think it was lucky for you that you got snipped on the Z-11 style kit because it was not correct for the '68. Unless that did not matter to you.

I have a NOS cold air kit for my 68 GS, and the one on e-bay is a complete. No the one e-bay is not mine.

Does it have one or two steel rings with the kit? I seen a kit sell about 3 years ago on ebay and it had the rubber boot and one/two steel rings that I could not figure out what they were for. Maybe they did not belong with that kit :Do No:

Whatever you want to say... I can think of a lot better things to put my $600 into than a little rubber tube. Rare or not, I think it is an absurd price. People like me with a nice 68 are no going to cut it up anyways. This is a part that wasn't popular at the time and should be even less popular now.

Performance boost from putting it on.. yeah right. I don't think so.

Mike mine did not come with any metal rings. The installation instructions said nothing about any metal rings.
