    Hi All,

Thanks to everyone who helped me sort out the pan bolt studs in my previous post: https://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/68-gs-400-oil-pan-stud-bolts.382465/

I finally found the missing four pan bolts in a bag labeled "front cover".

Here's my question for the folks who see these every day; one of the bolts that was missing turned out to be this cute pointy head bolt below. Pointy head can't be from anywhere else but the front cover. Of the four in the front cover, I think it goes right under the oil pump because the others show through the front cover. Can anyone please let me know? THANKS IN ADVANCE!

That right one looks like a self-tapping bolt like I'd expect in the radiator cover or a fender bolt. I wouldn't put that in my front cover if I had a choice. I'd find another one like the left one or just use a standard straight threaded bolt.

Yep, the pointed end bolt IS NOT an engine fastener, looks like a rad support or wheel house bolt.
