I was thinking of replacing my steering column with a tilt one.The problem is I dont know the difference between them, theres so much out there:

1-What is the difference between a 350 and 455 column?

2-Is a 4 speed and automatic floor shift the same??

3-Can a column shift be swap into a floor shift or 4 speed one?

4-Will a Riviera, or any full size work in a GS??

    Thanks guys!

1- For your purposes, there is no difference between 350 and 455 tilt columns. The only difference is the intermediate shaft that attaches to the column

2-No, they're not. There are slight differences between them. You'll pay a premium for a stick column over an auto one anyway. Im 99% sure they would interchange though.

3- Yes and no. You can use a column shift column with a console shift car, but then you would have that ugly piece where the column shifter fit in. Not worth the effort to fill in the hole or swap the lower bowl

    4- Different column

You can use 73-77 A-body columns.
They will work in your 70-2 Skylarks.

Floor shift columns will be the most expensive.
