Hood Springs Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i think the 68 & 69 springs are different-the hood doesn't open up as high,i know cause i hit my head several times on a 68 i parted out.70-72 might be usable on a 68/69 car,i just don't know for sure. If by chance you need a set of hood springs i have a really nice set off a 70 Skylark. Jeff j72stage1@hotmail.com
Looks like a 68 in your avatar pic? Unless you are a stickler for originality, go with 69 hood hinges. They will swap onto a 68 without any problems. I got tired of banging my skull on the front corners of the hood with those poorly designed 68 hinges, and changed to 69's. HUGE improvement in opening angle, you'll love it if you ever stick your head under the hood.
Dave That exactly what I'm up to, and I've got the knots to prove it. I knew the 69 hinge interchanged with my 68, I was wondering if any other year (70-72)would work as a bolt-in. I'm looking for a reasonable set of 69 hinges but I'm not having much luck. Gene
Gene, I believe I've read elsewhere that 70-72 do not bolt on to a 68/69 correctly. I know there are some guys on the board that should have a set of 69 hinges they would part with, just post in the Parts Wanted forum. Probably expect to pay maybe $20-$30 or so.
Thanks I've posted in the classifieds and only response is 3X that amt, I'll keep looking maybe someone at BG will have a set. Gene
Yeah, prices will vary... and demand seems to have risen in the past couple of years. I believe I paid $20 2 years ago for a good set.
