Looking for a driver's side tail light red lens for my '68 wagon. With as few stress cracks as possible.................John
John i'm traveling to the wrecking yard tomorrow. will grab both 68 lenses if they are in decent shape. will also be grabbing 68 sportwagon power window assy for another board member and as much other 67-68 sportwagon stuff as i can fit in my truck
John I grabbed the drivers lense off the 68 sportwagon. it doesnt have any stress cracks but does have a very small mark in the lense itself. also the lense is a bit faded but not brittle. probably will need to be redyed. I also grabbed the reverse lenses in case anybody needs them.
'68 Sportwagon tail light lens Bob, Looks pretty good. I'll take it. Thanks for getting it for me. Let me know the cost. I'll PM you about shipping. What condition was the other one in? .........John
John the other was gone. they charged me 15.00 for it so how about i sell it to you for....15.00 and 5 bucks should cover priority shipping
'68 Tail Light Lens Bob, Good deal. I'll send you the PM. Was there a decent chrome piece along the top edge of the tailgate? ............John
hi John.... Here's the other side (a right hand ) on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2496630579&category=34204 Bob - how did the power window hunt go ??
The clear part of the lense is not a reverse lens (those are in the bumper), it is part of the tail light lens and need to be in place so that the light from the bulb is evenly spread over it. On new lenses, the clear lens is glued in place. The glue becomes brittle with age and the pieces separate. You should be able to use some contact cement or other adhesive to glue it back on. Mark
i know that the clear lense is not a reverse lense. i grabbed both reverse lenses when i got the tail light. i figured somebody here could use em.

Alan, When we first spotted you at Salem, you were in the group of people waiting to receive the awards. You drove "Big Red" within 50 feet of us when you went to the Winners Circle area. We watched you help hang the BPG banner. Maybe we'll see you next year. .............John
