Anyone have any ideas on refinishing the blackish metal trim pieces on the 68-69 Riv's? The one that goes over the ACC controls is worn to shiney silver where thumbs have been rolling the little control wheels for 42 yrs.
The only way to fix that Steve is to replace it with an NOS (. . . unobtanium ) control panel, or find a 'good used' control panel. They weren't designed to last 42+ years. They are thin photo etched film, glued on a clear perspex curved panel which allows the light to identify the various controls for night driving. The panel is not all that easy to replace iether, as the control unit must be removed from the inst. cluster to gain access to the 4 spring steel clips that hold it on. . . . ask me how I know. :TU:

LOL. I tried to take the cluster out to repair the clock and gave up after an hour of paranoia over breaking something.
