I have a good running '68 400 shortblock for sale.
It was a good runner per the previous user but I decided to go a different route and do not need it.
$100 plus shipping. Or best offer.

Just for giggles let me see who I can find to ship east to North Carollina. Probably too much but let me see. What do you estimate the weight at?

I just shipped an engine from El Paso TX to Tacoma WA and it was over $600.
As for the weight of the short block? I have no idea. Hopfully someone will pipe in and tell us.

    Thank you,

I am still interested but I need some idea about shipping. I could have it shipped to Akron, Ohio rather than N.C. Do you have any way to estimate weight to determine shipping cost? Perhaps I can find someone out there that has already shipped one.

To give you an idea of shipping, I recently had my engine shipped up here to Tacoma WA, from El Paso, Texas and it cost $550.00.

So even though its a short block, It will have to be put on pallet and will still cost at least $350 if not more.

Let me know if you still want it. It is a used short block that could still run if you had all the other parts. I had the cylinder walls checked at a local machine shop and the are still good, but have some normal wear on them.

    Cheers,

    Hello,

    Sorry I need to clarify,
This WAS a good running engine before I stripped off the intake, timing cover, exhaust manifolds, valve covers and heads. I bought it for these parts. It was a strong running engine before I bought it. I don't know how many miles are on it.
I have it all greased up to protect it from rust at the moment. I have no idea how to ship an engine. I do know shipping mine from Texas was about $600.

As for what heads will fit on it. I'm attaching some information I found at Buick Performance.

    Thank you,

    Anybody?
I can meet someone in the kitsap/pierce/mason counties area.
otherwise I'm going to strip it, and recycle the block. But I'd rather someone use it.

    Thank you,

    I know it sucks,

I've seen many '67 400 and 430's way out of my reach.

Anyone coming from Washington to the East?

    Thank you,
