    Hi guys,

I am trying to determine if this is the correct hardware for the steering column bracket assembly. I know I need 4 pieces. Please see picture. 1572567371737918329055814802780.jpg 15725673967686220678796370098054.jpg

That bolt looks like it will work, but my '67 came with Phillips head screws like these.....

I don't know how important of having the "correct" hardware is to you, but the ones you have will work just fine.
When I changed over to a tilt column on my car I switched to hex head bolts like the one you have there for a more positive tightening grip.

Ok thanks. I was thinking that they were Phillips head. I can't find em in my hardware though. I wonder what the bolts I have pictured go to then? I only have 3 of these?!
I disassembled the interior before I realized the importance of detailed documentation as to what goes where and it was about 3 years ago.

Maybe the bolt that attaches the struts that support the steering column to the firewall?

Good guess Stacey but no. I never took those supports out. I am confident that they are dash/ interior related though. If I figure it out I will post here.

    Meanwhile,any other guesses? Thanks guys.

I can't think of many interior parts that would require a grade 5 bolt. And a +1 for the steering column screws. Mine were #3 Philips as well.

Those 4 slashes make those pozidrive screws. With a regular Phillips screwdriver, it would be difficult to tighten them enough and even more difficult to remove. You would need a pozidrive screwdriver or or better yet for those bolts, a 3/8 drive bit. GM used those on many interior trim pieces. If you use a pozidrive screwdriver and screw, the screw will actually stay on the screwdriver making it easier to install. Ever wonder why you can't get those sill plate screws out? Use a pozidrive screwdriver and they will come right out.
