Well, I sure as heck hope Im in the right place! I have a 67 Skylark that I have absolutely fell in love with, unfortunately the last guy gutted her to drag and the rust has consumed to much of her as many of my project on lookers here tell me. So my guy suggested that next summer we fly out, buy one in the states (I live in Alaska) with a solid frame and clean body and take the two and make the car I have planned out.

With that in mind Im trying to figure out which Buicks are good candidates for this. I like the look and feel of the 67. I have an all machined out 300 Im building and am keeping the original power glide, just having it rebuilt locally. Im one for the look of stock with a bit more fun. :) Can anyone help me with what Buicks fit the bill? Is it only the 66-70 Skylark, or will a GS do and I just dont use the GS emblems? The body/frame is my concern at this point as a lot of the 64 emblems, upholstery, etc I will be using from the one I have now.

And if anyone has one fitting the bill that they are letting go next summer by all means share with me or keep me in mind!

well other than a 67 the only other car you can use body panels off of is a 66 skylark and the hood trunk, grill bumpers and tailight pan is all exclusive to 67 on a 67

what all is eat out on the car

frame floor pans and trunk pans you can use chevelles gtos etc which are availabe in repos

Thankfully most of that is good. My trunk lid is good, doors look okay, but the rear pannels and floor are soo bad that I'm being told the insides that I attach the replacement pannels to are gone and the frame is roting under the front drrver side. The plan was to gut what I could and fly out to find a good body/frame, but I wasn't sure if any of the other years or models had the same body line as the 67 I have.

Unfortunately, 66 and 67 are the only years that are similar.

If you only need frame, quarters and floors....
The floors and frame will work from a 66-67 Chevelle, 442, Lemans, GTO, etc (66-67 GM A-body)
The quarter panelss will only work from a 66 or 67 Buick Skylark, Special, or GS. Rust-free originals are practically impossible to find. There are aftermarket panels avaliable on ebay for like $129 each, but they are junk. "They're better than nothing, but just barely" as my body guy told me.

there not full panels just patch panels for the lower part of the 1/4 which is where usually rust

as said any non exterior body panels will work from any abody and you can get most of that new

I understand the floors are the same across all of the A-bodies, but I have read elsewhere that the forks on the front of the Chevelle frame are significantly different than all of the other GM "sisters".

I just bought a '67 convertible Skylark with rot on the frame near the front of the driver's door. There is a '66 GTO coupe frame available about 3 hours away from me. I want to make sure it will work before driving up there. As long as it is a boxed frame I should be ok.

Good luck in your search. Use Craigslist to search the Oregon/Washington area. There are lots of good cars there.

Sweet, thanks, I'll check it out - maybe I'll find one that will be a nice drive. :)
