Just got back from looking at the 67 olds trans. It had 2 wires coming from trans , a large # "4" on the bellhousing and the trans pan had a 2-3 inch round "washer" looking imprint pattern and was different from my 69 t400 pan, It also had a long tail. I think I've got to have a short for my 68 Riv so is all I have to do is swap tailshafts and does that require tearing the trans down. Thaks for input! The price is $300 and the Id tag is not on the trans anymore.

An easy way to spot a switch pitch is to look at the input shaft splines. The SP input shaft splines are 1/2 as long as the fixed pitch splines. This picture may help.
