a trunk release solenoid from a 71-76 big buick will work on a 67 with a slight mod to the car. there is a piece of metal you need to remove. it is about .25 x .50 inches square. then the solenoid fits perfect.
the metal removed spot is covered by the solenoid.

if you are interested in this idea, i can get a few pics by the weekend from a 67 pontiac grand prix that has had this done.

Yes please, I have a 74 Olds 98 sitting here. It might work as well with the same modification.

Um Bill, these won't work:Do No:

    I think there from a 66.
There too short, made of steel not plastic, and the wind lace interface is different.
67 on the right(mine), 66(?) on the left (yours)

the 74 olds 98 popper is the same one i am talking about.

we are in a deep freeze at the moment so getting to the car to photo it is about impossible.
if you remove the olds popper and hold it in place on the 67, you probably will see exactly what i am talking about. it even uses the same bolt holes.

its supposed to get clear up to 35 (one year ago it was 72 degrees) degrees tomorrow ... i will try to get pics if i can.

That's great, no rush, it's way down on the list of things to get done before spring:laugh:

Just to sum things up I'm still looking for:
"A" Pillar cover, passenger side. (no cracks or splits)
    Front signal light lenses.
    Steering wheel
    Dash pad
Rocker panel chrome strips with hardware.
    LeSabre Emblem for rear quarter
Fender Skirt mounting brackets (Wildcat or Electra) the ones that go on the body.
    Thanks Bruce

ok .... here is what i was talkin about. maybe it will work on a bodies too.

on my 67 Grand Prix i used the latch from a 74 lesabre since the GP latch didnt have the bend in the latch lever to recieve the "kick".
most latches i have seen on the 60s cars have the bend ... mine didnt.

its pretty straight forward. an air body saw can make cutting the slots easier. i didnt have one at the time.

latch and solenoid are 71-76 big buick/olds/pontiac/chevy ... i think some caddys are different.

    these poppers are pretty reliable.

Thanks for the info, mine is mounted in the trunk lid, but you given me food for thought, I'll see if I can make something work.
    thanks Bruce

    Hi Bill,

Thanks for the reply. I purchased a 67 Wildcat that's really rotted out. It has a good dash pad, "A" pillar covers and one good signal light lens.
