The tired and neglected old girl came home today. The first step will be a 'clean and catalog' session to figure out exactly what I have and what I need. Then I need to attack the rust that has accumulated from sitting in a junkyard for 25 years. (The title was signed over to the yard owner in 1982) A full mechanical and cosmetic restification will follow. Just so y'all know, I'm not going for an original restoration here. I want a fun driver that isn't a brand X bellybutton car. I realize that the car is just a little bit rough uzzled: , but believe it or not I've started with worse and had a whole lot of fun during the project. I'll post pics of various parts of the car as I get to them. At this point it's easier to list the parts that don't need work than the ones that do......I think the headlight surrounds look pretty good and the ashtray door opens very smoothly. The rest needs a little help. :bglasses: Len in PHoenix
The lighter patch could be some bondo under the fender badge on the other side....I'll know more when I strip the body
Heck, us northern guys would just about kill for such a solid looking body. Nice find, and I like your guard pooches too.:beer
Len, Great find. I also just brought home my 67 convert. I'm just starting the process pretty much like you are.I always had 70's style cars. Now that I have this 67 it's awesome. Just ordered the new repo front grill. And some other parts. I'll post some pics when I take her out of the garage this weekend Joe
Don't look to bad for sitting outside for 25 years. Getting those pistons/rods out may take a while. Look forward to updates. Ray
Nice find. I like the head rest on the bucket seats. I know they were a rare option in 67. The seat pattern looks non Buick but you can change that when you recover them. I like the dove color (white) interior. Did you get that car from Speedway Auto? Welcome to the board.
Thanks everybody. Screenman - where did you get your grill? I might be able to repair mine, but replacing it would be much easier. abodybill - Thanks for ID'ing the seats. Now I won't feel bad about putting in a set of Recaro seats. If they were a rare factory option I'd keep them, but since they're brand X it doesn't matter nearly as much. RG67Beast - I didn't show any pics of the 455 long block that I picked up at the same time. I agree the getting the pistons out of the driver side will be a chore and I doubt that the original owner took the engine apart just for grins. There's most likely something wrong down in there. The 455 will be going to TA Perf for a mild build sometime in the next few months. And yes, I got the car from Speedway. Len
Len I would keep the original block and the seats if I were you. The seats maybe be sold to those crazy bow tie boys. Here is a picture of the grill I tested fitted for The Parts Place. They should be out later this spring. Save the stainless from your old grill because you will need to put it on the new grill. I put the stainless on this one. If you call them and pre order you will save over a $100 and they will not bill you until it is shipped. If you need a section for your grille pm me. I may have what you need. I have no stainless avail.. All the vertical center pot metal mouldings I have are pitted. But I can make a grille if you are on the low buck and painted if need be. Shipping will be more than usual. I bought two mint grilles and in shipping both were cracked into pieces. I'll quadupal wrap then superwrap any grille I sell for a 67. Fair price. Not a ebay price. Ray

Arizona is kind to metal but very bad on plastic/vinyl. I bought a Chevelle SS396 out of a junkyard in Tucson. The car sat there for probably 15 years before I bought it. The body was great, and all the fasteners came off easily. Here in New England, cars that looked like that disappeared by the early 80's. The climate here is killer on old cars! BTW - Nice score, and keep us posted on your progress.
Len that looks all most just like me bring mine home even the U-Haul maybe so day I will figer out how to post pics. just can't get over how much the same they are . Rick
