I just got a steering wheel off a 67 GS, it is a 15" wheel. Someone painted it black quite some time ago and I would like to clean it up, it is the Saddle color under the black stuff. What can I use to clean this off without ruining the wheel. The grain looks pretty good and where the paint is off, the color looks good. I just don't want to mess it up. Also, will try to post a picture here, can't do it in the cars wanted forum. Edit oh well, didn't work here either.
Citrus type hand cleaner and a plastic scrub brush works very good. Even cleans the "goo" oozing out of a steering wheel.
