67 GS400 Dash Bezel. Has GS emblem, clock (don't know if it works), speed indicator knob. Decent shape considering it's almost as old as me..... $250
I know this dash bezel has already sold. My question is are the 66 and 67 the same? I can't find any differences?
From what I have been able to tell, the painted areas are different, 66 has black, below the silver. 67 has a black strip below the silver, but the lower area is chrome, this is the way this one is.
I can add a picture of my 66 dash bezel. I believe that they are the same. Only variations I see are ac or no ac and gs 400 or base skylark. Also it appears that all dash bezels were made the same for hardtops and convertibles. The back of the hardtop version has the depression where the convertible top switch is located its just not cut out on the front of the bezel.
Pictures of my 66 and 67 GS dash bezels, original, never painted, 66 lower all black, 67 lower edge chrome.
I think Buick goofed when they designed the 66 dash. That lower strip looks like it was meant to be chrome like the 67. But with the 66 dash pad, that chrome strip reflects up on to the windshield! (been there, done that). For 1967, the dash pad extends out further so the chrome dash reflection is blocked. Real nice dash BTW. Tough to find them with nice chrome in the ribbed area.
Gs spoken awesome info. I couldn't see any differences!! This does widen my search for dash bezels in the future. My bezel is in decent shape but I'm starting to get some pitting around the dash pad area.
This guy has had this thing listed forever. Obviously the price is too high, but thought I would share in case you wanted to pursue: https://chicago.craigslist.org/nwi/pts/d/lowell-1966-buick-skylark-instrument/7058908896.html
Thanks man, but it looks to be in pretty similar condition to mine. Most of my 66 is driver quality, but I'm always looking to upgrade!!! Once my engine bay/motor resto is complete I may persue a few of these leads.
