Having a hard time findind a rear sway bar for my 67 Wildcat. I've up graded the front to 1 1/8" so I think I'll need 7/8" for the rear, now a lot of companys show them in their catalogs but when it comes down to it they don't fit. Can anyone help.

I had no idea that there was even a factory rear sway bar for you car. I know virtually all GM divisions has proprietary chassis pre-'71 chassis sharing ... That said, some divisions were more different than others and some shared some parts. Is there any way Olds or Chev. could have a full-size rear sway bar? I know John Delorean, at Pontiac about this time, disliked the rear sway bars so much he demanded them to not be offered on the GTO's for many years in the mid-to-late 60's.
There is a recent article I read (Hemmings Muscle Machines, I think) about a Olds Delta or Delmont Police package ... and there was a rear stabilizer bar mentioned and/or pictured. Someone else may be able to chime in. Have you checked Hollander's Interchange manual?

Ken, thanks for your time. I'll see if I can find the article you cited.

There's a full size 65-70 rear bar on page 147/149 I believe it was in the T/A performance catalogue.

Thanks Kimson, can't believe I missed that one. Mikes catalog is my adult wish book. Mike, Sherri and Sonto have been nothing short of tremendouse with helping me on my build. I'll call them in the morning and report back.

I took a look at your the link for your car, and :eek2: that cat is getting the royal treatment!!! It will be cool to see it when it's all done, but it's almost even cooler to see it being worked on. No shortcuts there, wish I could run a tight build like that. Wow, good luck in '09, looks like you'll have her ready for the summer if you keep the pace up.

Say, which shop did you do the gear job at?

Having Tim @ TA Performance send me out the 1" sway bar they offer. Mike suggests boxing and sleeving the lower arms and Tim had me get the shim and bolt kit from The Parts Place I'll keep you posted.

    Cool.

I spoke to Kieth yesterday, and he was tracking down bearings for both of us.

Cool, be needing it soon. Dropped of the body to have it finished today, B&E Custom in Chatsworth, nice shop, also have a good gut instinct with this shop.
If I hear from Kieth I'll let you know.

Chris, what did you use for the front sway bar upgrade if you don't mind me asking?

Don't mind, upgraded the front sway bar to 1 1/4" purchased it from PST Performance Suspension Technology. TA only offers a 1" rear sway bar, hope it balances with the front. There are calculators online but you need an engineering degree to figure them out. Anyone have an opinion on the size of the rear sway bar when using a 1 1/4" front sway bar?

My take on it all is the bigger the better. Does any one know if this piece can be used on a '69 Riviera? I see that the Addco bar is for the Wildcat and Riviera.

Not 100% sure but Addco wasn't positive that the bar would even fit on the Cat even though the catalog say's it will, so I tried several times to help them by sending photos, shop manuel illustrations and offered communication to Addco with many responses such as I'll call you back when I can get to my desk or when I get in the office I'll call you to have you fax it, but know one would call me back, so I went to the Ol' reliable TA Performance.

I'm sure Addco is a great place to shop but I couldn't wait any longer, it's frustrating, especially in todays economy that I have money to spend and people don't seem to have time to sell you a product. Maybe times aren't really that tough! Good luck.
