Ok guys, here is the deal, this guy has offered me this car for $500, I know it is worth more than that. Where can you buy a running, driving classic Buick for $500?

Anyway, I am strongly considering buying it and reselling it, however I currently have 6 cars and a three car garage, so I have NO room for it.

It has a running 300 engine with about 150k miles I think. Fairly solid hood and front fenders (one dented, not bad). Solid doors (one dented, not bad). Light rust in bottom of quarters, trunk rusty, trunk lid real rusty (needs replacing). Good bumper cores, could probably be cleaned up and used on a driver, cracked special/gs grille, but not bad (repairable probably, I have seen many worse grilles being used), decent headlight and tail light trim, etc. Interior, is okay, but not great.

I think it is a one or two owner (1 family), I think original paint.

Would make a decent driver for someone who wants something cheap to drive and fix up or a great running parts car for someone who needs a front end and doors, grille, bumpers, etc.

What's fair? how about $750? Couple of hundred bucks is probably worth my time and a buddy's to go and get it and bring it home.

I don't have any pictures as I haven't bought the thing, but I told the guy I would and that I would come and get it. If no one buys it from me here, I guess it is off to craigslist or ebay. I am sure you could part it out for a lot more, but I haven't got the time, space or patience!

Respond in this thread to put your self in line, after that you can contact me through this thread, or by PM or by phone at 206.334.5220.

I have only seen the car once and then briefly, as he wanted around $1k for it so I didn't spend a lot of time with it.

Somebody has to want something like this? Race car? or? Todd? Harvey? Jamie (might be too nice for you  )? Let's talk!

Al, your up, the last thing George needs is another project, unrelated to his first.

This would be a good car for someone local who already has a 67 in need of some help.

I am still trying to reach the owner in CA to make arrangements to buy it and pick it up on Saturday, and would want to move it out as soon as possible.

Al, let me know what you are thinking.

    Thanks, Chris

    Pete,

Al is out, the better half wasn't too excited about the prospect of bringing another car home.

Not sure if this car is such a good deal after you pay to transport it back east? Let me know what you think. 206.334.5220

    Thanks, Chris

    Chris,

Do you have any pics or a link to some? I'm interested but I would like to see how it is before I'd buy it.

    Thanks!

    Todd,

No pictures at all, I didn't take any when I looked at it as his asking price was out of my price range for the car at $1k. I am hoping to get it this weekend, the owner (who lives in CA) sent the paperwork to a lady who lives next door to where the car is, but she hasn't received it yet (we are hoping it isn't lost in the mail). If I do get it, I will need to move it asap, as my wife will have no patience with a $750 beater sitting at the bottom of the driveway!

So somebody needs to buy this thing asap, I will probably put it on craigslist once I get it if it isn't sold by the time I pick it up.

    Thanks, Chris

Okay guys, No solid offers on the Buick yet, everyone wants pictures and I don't have it. Where is the trust?

I just bought a 71 LeMans cream puff (70k miles, original paint, etc.) so I can not even pick up this special from Redmond as I have no where to put it right now. I have to sell this car tonight (I will be up most of the night, come and get it) or tomorrow morning. If you can't pick it up today or tomorrow, then you are out. As such, I am restricted the sale to local buyers who can pick it up, I can not hold for shipping. IF it doesn't sell by tomorrow, I will be raising the price, as I will have to pay for storage.

Glen, you are next, call me by 10 am at the latest with what you want to do, or I am moving on to Todd. I have no pictures, so if you want the car based on what I have written let me know. The car is ONLY $750 here folks!

    Thanks, Chris
