TODD'S 67 Time for another Buick!

I'd like to redo a 67 star wars air cleaner base. It has the rubber ring that seals to the bottom of the star wars housing. If I take that out to clean and paint the base, it will probably shred and disintegrate! It's either glued in or a friction fit. Any ideas on a replacement piece??? Also, how can I redo the AC filter info that's printed on the inside? Thanks!
