I have a running '67 300 2 brrl that I need to get rid of. Its in a storage unit that I'm wasting $ to rent and I need to stop. I've tried unsuccessfully to give it away so I fear I'm going to have to scrap it. Is there anything I should keep off it? I know guys use 300 cranks for 215 strokers but I don't know what year. Should I keep the crank? Timing cover? Or just dump the whole thing? I hate to throw away a running motor but I can't keep throwing away $ to store it.

it would be cheaper to drive it to baltimore so i can install it on my
    aluminum deathsled..

Ashame you didn't live closer i would take it off your hands..

Actually I may possibly know someone in edgefield South carolina who may be interested and would even buy it ...
Hold tight and I will notify you this evening....[granted the motor is still avaliable..
    thnx

I've parted an Iron 300 before. There isn't much you can sell. You can sell the conecting rods and crank. You can sell the timing cover. If it was a switch pitch car you can also sell the switch pitch "switch" and linkage that attaches to the carb throttle linkage. You can sell the distributer cap and wires if they are original as well as the original oil breather. All that stuff together might get you $75 or so on ebay, possibly more if your timing cover oil pump housing is in real good condition (although I've never seen a used one in good condition).

The heads and intake can be sold to someone local, but the shipping cost on those heavy items make it difficult to sell nationwide.

In any case if the sale with 69 falls through and you want to just get it off your hands let me know. I can drive to Atlanta and pick it up. I'll swap you for a case of your favorite beverage. :beer
