Apparently the "445" is RARE RARE! .....so rare it isn't even in the car.ou: .....and it is a police car because of the spotlight and the optional red lights on the rear quarters. I guess the buyers are lining up. ...and it's only $6,500! Ebay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buick-1966-BUICK-WILDCAT-W-RARE-445-ENGINE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6144QQihZ017QQitemZ270159504863QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW I've got dibs on this one. Musta been hard to get unruly criminals into the back of a TWO DOOR police car! Now that's rare! OK, I'm off to the garage to drill holes in my rear fenders to mount those lights! Also, what's the correct paint code for an orange firewall?
The blacked out skull and crossbones sticker on the front fender really must have put the fear into all those criminals as they were loaded into the back seat! Are you sure this wasn't a pirate ship in a previous life?
I'm waiting to see the picture of the first title the seller claims he has. It will tell us if that was a police car. My guess is a factory spotlight optioned car with the typical rust around the taillight buckets requiring aftermarket lights for legal operation of yonder automobile.
Bingo! Yeah, sure-- a 2 door police car in the 60's... but never say never... maybe it was a detective's car or something...
That's not Rot, it's called "character". And the only people I've seen put those "police" lights on their cars are "OLD PEOPLE". ( my apologies to any and all "old" people I have just offended). Extra tail lights above the original tail lights to ensure that you see them when they're riding their brakes EVERYWHERE they go. I live in a "retirement" community where, oh in just a few more weeks, the elderly will flood the streets like the conclusion of a Van Halen concert, only it's RV's towing Saturns, except no one can remember where their trailer park is located. The only thing missing on that Wildcat it 2 rolls of reflective red and white striped tape. -Josh
I looked at mine close, it has the motor IN THE CAR! Wow, I may have a special car myself. I like to put the bad guys in the trunk.
How about the JC Whitney "101 sounds" horn keypad down by the parking brake release. Maybe he was "aspiring" to be a police officer.
