I was looking at some of the pictures i sent out and noticed they show the original steering wheel. It was pretty badly cracked so a few years ago i bought a correct wood wheel and horn bar and installed that in place of the original wheel. It really dresses up the interior I'll have to see if i have pictures.

    does it have the tach?

No there is no tach in the console.

I am getting some emails from folks who are interested in the car but no one has posted interest in this thread. In the interest of following the board policy regarding getting in line and working with prospective buyers I'd like to ask serious interested parties to express interest in this thread and then we can go from there.

    Tom,
My interest is from a nostalgic perspective. This is a lot like what my Dad bought new off of the showroom floor back in February of 66. My first experience/recollection of a new car purchase. What my Dad bought was a Wildcat GS, same color as this but with black custom interior. His was a low option model with am/fm radio, a power antenna, buckets, console, the tach, Buick rally wheels and tinted windows all around. (How I also loved the green hue of the tinted windows when the sun shone through the back window. Oh the weird thinks we remember and why) It also had no A/C and no power windows or seats. I can remember falling in love at first sight with the buckets, console, and tach. As the youngest member in the family, I was usually relegated to the middle of the back seat. I was always ok with that cause from my perspective it was the best seat in the car. From that position and with no bench seat, I could see out the front window and could see the tach. As a kid, I was fastenated with the tach, and especially at night time with the warm glow of it. (Sorry for lamenting here, but just looking at the pic on the original post brings back all of the years and all of the great memories of that car.) I grew up in a neighborhood with a lot of elderly people, and that car is what created my money making opportunities as a kid. My Dad never washed or waxed that car. I did it because I loved that car so much. All of the older people in the neighborhood called that Johnny's car as opposed to my Dad's car as I was the one that took such good care of it. Because of that, the people in the neighborhood started asking me to wash and wax their cars, which then lead me to cutting their grass, raking their leaves, and shoveling their snow (and of course the obligatory newspaper delivery). I did pretty well with my money and had my own bank account of which most of the money went into. Well that all paid off one day shortly after I had turned 15 and we happened to go by Miller Motors Buick and what was sitting in the front line of the used cars, but a 66 Skylark GS, burgundy with black interior. I made my Dad turn around immediately to take a look. Upon looking I fell in love a second time. Black bucket seats with a four speed, a mini console, and the same tach in the console. I started begging my Dad right on the spot to buy that car as it was a mini version of his. As our whole family bought all of our cars from there, and from a single salesman, Corey Reed, he knew very well who we were and as a result I convinced him to hold the car for me for a day so I could convince my parents to let me buy it. Upon returning home, my dad quickly convinced my Mom to allow me to buy it as I took such good care of his car. We went back the next day and my Dad drove it home for me, and all of the neighbors came out to see my car which I named Chip (cause it was a chip off the old block of the Wildcat GS). I remember how all of the neighbors were so happy for me, and I remember not really understanding why until my Mom explained to me that they were so happy for me as they all felt part of the process as they understood that I purchased something I would love and take care of with all of the money that they had paid to me throughout the years for all of my hard work. (And yes that was a good and impressionable moment) Now, while the neighbors were there sharing my moment, I knew one of the widows there had an empty single car garage. So on the spot we bartered for her garage space for free grass mowing, leaf raking, snow shoveling, and the occasional trip to the grocery store for her. I can remember how a couple of the other neighbors spore up on my behalf and told her that if she did not accept my offer, that they would move their car out of the garage to take me up on that offer. Oh the memories I have of those two cars, and how my Dads Wildcat GS started my love affair with 66 Buicks and how that fire continues today.
So Tom, if anything, thanks for the post and the pic at the top of the page for the trip down fine memory lane as we close the books on yet another year, and the simple and wonderful world in which I grew up in.

    Gents,
I got through to the guy who owns the building the car is stored in and he's told me that there is no way to get the car out until some of the other cars, boats and motor homes are moved. In short the car is stuck in there until spring. I'm still glad to discuss the car with any interested parties but the actual transaction would have to wait until spring.

I think those 66 wildcat GS cars are as good looking a car as could be made by any company! Stunning looks and lines. None better and only a few equals. That color is awesome too. Plus being so rare......hard to beat.

Well the wildcat is out of storage and I've worked with every interested party that I have contact information for. I have a link to a photo bucket account with a bunch of new photos of the car. Please take a look and let me know if you are interested http://s430.photobucket.com/user/hrod2/library/

OK V8 Buick and Wildcat People: I just reviewed the pictures Mr. Lynch has supplied. Here's 10 things like about this car...

    1. It's a 66 Wildcat coupe.
    2. The colors are excellent.
    3. While not super loaded , full tint and a/c would add lots, it is a Custom with buckets and a full console.
    4. It has a solid drive train. The Turbo-400 tranny not as important as the 425. That's an expensive rebuild.
    5. It looks like lots of small items are in good repair.
    6. The paint has some substance and I believe there's lots of room for lots more shine.
    7. The front end sheet metal is pretty true and not tweaked like most.
    8. A decent and honest presentation that gives me somewhat of a real good idea of how this car is in the flesh.
    9. An owner can have fun with it while doing several minor upgrades as they go and not open a large can-o-worms.
    10. It is for sale.

Just me now....I didn't consider the matching numbers and GS because , while it certainly doesn't hurt I feel the overall look and condition are what make this appealing. The price? I'm not a buyer and I will leave that up to the the prospect who has the money. Mitch

Thanks Mitch, i think you have captured this car pretty closely, there is super solid foundation here; all that is needed is some one with the time to really address the details to make this car a real stand out.

Did somebody buy this gorgeous and unique (66 gs) car? Bill Burton has the best example of one I've ever seen, but this one is really sweet?
