All of the emblems are in the correct places along with the aluminum valve covers and chrome air cleaner. Its the non-custom model too - even rarer

The only thing that looks strange to me is the combination of the Wildcat script and the GS emblem on the back. But most of them had the block letters, so I've never seen one with script and GS. Nice car.

The script with the GS is also correct...earier version. Years ago, I had a 2dr HT GS Wildcat with the script (documented).

    Needs to be posi?

I believe that another way to check it out, if you're close enough, is to make sure it has a posi. I think that all 66 GS wildcats and Rivieras (but not Skylark GS's) had posi. Anyone agree? disagree?

The posi was definately part of the 66 Wildcat GS package. :beer

Ken, thanks for that info! Nothing like owning one to know the right stuff!

Why do I want to bid on it now?

I can't help it. I'm always suspicious when an all original rare car comes up for sale with the perfect colors. I'd need a real expert to look it over with a fine tooth comb. I wouldn't know what to look for that's my problem. Didn't they make less than 50 GS Convertibles? I seem to recall it was a really small number. Or am I thinking about the dual quad option on them?

I'm confusing myself. I know my 66GS Riv 2X4 was one of under 180 made. Seems like this guys production number is too high for the Wildcat GS Convertibles.

First thing I'd do is get a look at the data tag to see if the car as shown matches. I remember a similiar car a few months back, no documentation, complete color and interior change too. Not the original engine either.

If its a Standard Wildcat GS Convt there was less than 50 Produced, The custom Wildcat GS convt. there were 198 produced. To verify it is a true GS, you will need the production-Build sheet.
One other thing that was only on the
GS Wildcat was a quick Ratio steering.
