I have been contacted by a Mopar guy about working on a "66 Sportwagon that has serious problems in the differential. I can only guess but I suspect a broken pinion and all the damage it would cause. If I need to get parts for this is there a source since this differential is unique to the '65-'66 Sportwagon.

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

    JR,

I would clean up my mailbox if I know how to do it.

Go to the top of the V8buick page. Click on Private Messages. Then click on the messages you want to delete individually, OR, click on the box across from where it says INBOX to select ALL the messages. Then go to the bottom and click on Selected Messages, then click on Delete, then click on Proceed. You can go to the Sent folder and delete those messages also if you like. You are only allowed about 70 PM's before your mailbox is full and you can't send or receive PM's until you delete messages you don't need.

    Larry,

Thanks for the steps to delete some messages. I will try to remember that for the future. I left a message for JD and will have a few questions for him. My initial diagnosis is correct, broken ring and pinion.

Be extremely careful with the axle bearings out by the wheels. They dont make them anymore. The GS and Sportwagon had a larger bearing than the standard Skylark. The Skylark bearing will not work. You can possibly get the correct bearings from CARS if they still have any left. Be careful though. The last set I bought from them had the correct bearings but incorrect retainers.
