'66 Special fuel supply issue

Discussion in 'Street/strip 400/430/455' started by "66 Special 455, Nov 3, 2012.

  1. The stock 5/16" fuel line on my 66 special is not getting enough fuel to the 455 I swapped into my car, so I am wondering what the best solution is? Obviously a 3/8" line from the tank is the best thing to do, so I am wondering what to do to the fuel pickup assembly? Is there an aftermarket one I can buy that has a 3/8" pickup? The tank should be the same as a Chevelle which makes me think an aftermarket one should be readily available? Return or no return? I plan on running a mechanical fuel pump and either a stock style Q-jet or a Holley perhaps. Any advice on what to do would be appreciated!

I used the Robb Mc 1/2" pickup. I also have the -8 AN fitting option. I then used easy to run -8 push lok hose up to the pump.

Rob also sells a nice 550 HP mechanical pump.
