Good friend of mine is making repro reverse lenses for me. He is a sr CAD specialist at Titleist. They will be clear not dimpled. I'll let all know how they come out. If anyone is interested message me on here or comment down below.
There was a board member, Len, that made some repos. Long time ago, maybe 15+ years. There is a casting process that may work. Silicone is used to make the mold from an original. Then the lens is made with epoxy. There are kits on Amazon. I recently used the silicone to make molds of cylinder head ports, it's an easy process. I've been trying to think of Items I could make using the casting process, haven't done that yet.
I thought about making the trunk lid trim end pieces. He actually has a state of the art 3d printer through titliest. No molds needed. Scan and recreate. He makes all sorts of parts for his 50's Willy's. And pot metal pieces can be made out of plastic and wrapped in chrome vinyl. You can't even tell the difference.
There was a guy on FB making some too. I got a pair and they were soft in hot weather and not as clear as the originals, more opaque or light yellowish. They were dimpled as originals though. Maybe this info will help your friend with his formulation.
