Well, the new motor, tranny and brakes are done. Runs great. It is a nice Texas car with very little rust and body damage. It does need a fender though. I really want to find a 4 barrel intake and carb for it. If anyone has one or can point me in the right direction let me know. Where is the best place to get carpet, seat covers and door panels for these cars? It also needs replacement rubber all around. Oh, and send some color suggestions my way. I think I want to put a late model gm color on it. Now for a few pictures Suggestions are appreciated! Enjoy and thanks Ryan
is that the same color as my 67 Special!?!?!? dang i think that's the first car i've seen wearing the same color! I wouldn't change it but that's just me. Here's my 67... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/472164 I'd get some ralleys for it first. Good luck with everything, welcome to the board.
Legendary Auto interiors can get you all the interior parts you need. Just FYI, all the resto places that sell interiors like Year One, Original Parts Group, etc. all get the stuff from Legendary and re-sell it, so just call them directly. Call Soft-Seal to get all the weatherstripping. You look to have black interior--what condition are your door panels in? If you need an excellent complete set, I have a black set to sell that came out of my '66. The only reason I took them out is I found a car with PW on it and put all the PW stuff in my car. The car the PW came out of had black interior also, so I just swapped in the door panels out of that car since they already had the right holes for the window switches.
The door panels arnt beat up. The only real problem with them is the carpet at the bottom. thanks for the help.
Ryan, Check out the thread '1966 Number 2. I like the thin pillar post cars and I just picked up the '66 Special last weekend. If you like the current color, keep it. If you want to change, look thru this forum for cars of different colors. Silver mist or burgundy mist is a couple of favorites of mine. You can replace the carpet on the door panels; that's what I did. You'll need to remove the panels, and then the trim around the carpet. Go to an auto upholstery shop to find a similar weight / weave carpet. Trim it to fit and use contact cement to attach it. Simple.... BTW, the Dallas, Houston, & Austin area Buick clubs are getting together at Waco on 3/31. Good luck, Steve
Brian. - If Ryan doesnt need your black door interiors I would happely be put in line to buy them! Did I understand correctly that they are original with manual windows? thanks. Dan.
