I am trying to figure out what the correct part# is for the Delco Remy Voltage Regulator.

It would be cool to find a correctly date coded one, but it doesn't have to be. One that is at least stamped Delco Remy would be my second choice. But if I can't find a good one that way, then a later one that at least looks correct I could deal with. Anyone know a good one or a good place to start. Took a quick glance on evil bay, but prices and part#s are all over the place.

The one currently in the car is definitely after market. It looks like a heat sink or something with a big fuse stuck in the middle of it. I am about to do all new wiring harnesses for under the hood, so trying to make it look right. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks - Johnny

Thanks Steve. I finally found the correct section of the Chassis Manual. Was using the electronic version so it is a little harder to navigate with so much clicking.

Looks like I am looking for Voltage Regulator 1119515 and Alternator 1100709, which is a 10DN from what I can find. My alt. was working before I pulled the engine so it is probably still OK to keep going, but just need to check it an see for one if it is actually the correct alternator for the car or not and two if it is putting out the charge it needs to be. If this car was just nickel and diming me that might be OK, but it's fifty and hundreding me and gonna run me broke. Lol. It's definitely a labor of love, thats for sure.

    Johnny,
Changed both units in my '71 a few years ago. Looking for the "correct" number at the time. '71 Skylark/GS with AC is a 1 year, 1 application alternator.
Found a good core, stripped it down & restored the case only. Bought a new alternator & put the internals inside the old case.
Regulator was similar. Bought a new solid state unit. Restored the original cover & put it on the new unit.
Best of both worlds...........works as new & looks factory correct.

Totally agree. This is exactly what I did with my regulator. Got rid of the old, replaced with solid state, and installed the vintage cover on it. You can't tell I did anything with it.
