66 Skylark GS parking light question

Anybody out there with a 66 Skylark or GS that can tell me if it is normal for my front parking lights to turn off when the headlights are turned on ? If I just turn on the parking lights they are fine, but if I pull the knob out the rest of the way for the headlights the front parking lights go out.

That is the way they work on my 66GS.

I believe it was in either the '67 or '68 model year when the parking lights were on anytime the lights were on. Before that, it was normal for the parking lights to turn off when the headlights were on. Ray
