A few pics from the tranny install and rear shocks installation...

The tranny after getting it back from the rebuilder... The car is at the tranny rebuilders shop waiting for the tranny to be fixed again. I had it rebuilt, installed it and had no 3rd gear. So, I loaded the car onto a trailor and towed it to the tranny rebuilders shop yesterday.

These next pics are the underside of the car while I had it up on the rack. The underside is caked with dirt from the old west texas roads. Once I get the car back, im going to put it back on the rack and start scraping and scrubbing away. There is some surface rust, but most of it is dirt. In the pics, it looks like its complete rust.

Anybody got an extra trunk lid?

Previous owners installed some cheap autozone type turbo mufflers..

The next pics, my girlfriend took while I was installing the rear shocks..

Oh yea, I pulled all four wheels off and took them to get new tires put on. When I got them back, the rears had white-walls out, and the fronts didnt. I also have to take this back to get fixed..

Cool to see that your putting money and time into your GS :TU:
That car looks like it's worth it, and I agree that in photos things can look completely different. Not much real rust on Texas cars, only thing I always noticed was cracked dash pads and weatherstriping that was falling apart after many years in the sun.

I think that all black tyres are looking good on a Riv like that, so think about which pair you want to be reversed.

Please post more photos of that GS in the future, to show what's happening :beer

Thanks. Yea, I was going to go with all black sidewalls as well. My dash pad is perfect. Not one imperfection that I can find. The weather stripping is the worst. The trunk seals are nearly gone and the door seals have hardened and cracked. I plan on taking pics of everything as I work on it and restore it.
