I put the 425 in place of the 430, which is the same dimensionally as a 455, so to answer your question........yes. I saw one in the Riview once about 2 years ago. (if you belong to the ROA that's the bi-monthly publication you get) You'll need different frame mounts which are a royal PITA to weld in the right position, different tranny, reversed radiator and tranny cooler lines, modify the engine wiring harness, different exhaust pipes, different fan shroud, and you MAY have interference at the right rear of the motor at the evaporator (if you have AC) and you will then have to use a '67 evap core b/c the pipe is angled different. I don't know for sure about that though, and I don't know if the one in the Riview had AC or not. The other AC parts that are mounted on the '66 frame may interfere with the belts also. You'll prolly go faster, but my opinion on doing that should be self explanatory.
Hey Stallion! A NAILHEAD is a BEAUTIFUL thing! They have a lot of grunt and can be modded to run real well. Some headers, a bigger cam, dual quads and an aluminum dressup kit and you'll have one of the most rightious rides on earth. :TU: Don't feel like you're "settling" for a nailhead rebuild. They can RUN. Just as Tommy Ivo.
