'66 GS posi ID

    I just picked up a rear end that is supposed to be out of a '66 GS.

    It is a factory posi, I found the circled-X stamp, and what looks like OX.

    I think it will go nice under my '64 Special:TU:

    Geez OX seems to come out to 2.93 ratio posi BUT for a 1968 rear end WAGON...??? Hum. Have any pictures? Jim

    OX shows as 66/67 2:93 Posi in my book.

    I tend to believe the seller on it being from a '66 GS, because he had the 401 in his 1-ton dually.

    I was looking at a '70 Riv he had and noticed the rear with the Buick style cover and posi tag sitting on the garage floor.

    I asked what it was out of and he told me about stripping a rusted out low miles '66 GS, then showed me the engine in the truck.

    He also has a '66 or '67 401 with trans from a Lesabre sitting on the floor as a spare, and says hes going to pull the nailhead out of the truck and put a 4.3-V6 in for better gas mileage:rolleyes:
