well im taking on this 66 gs convertable, and the only things the car is missing is a gas tank and the alternator brackets. i got a tank, sending unit and straps but the tank doesnt come with a filler neck. any ideas? and im not sure what the alt bracket looks like(first 401 ive owned) so any help with that would be nice too. thank you.
I have a used filler neck I cut off a tank years ago and saved for just that purpose. You can have it for $20.
just an FYI if you buy the repro gas tanks from a goodmark vendor they come with the filler neck already installed. I paid 135.00( i get a discount) for my 65 tank and it has filler neck and looks awesome. it's the same one as sold by tamraz on Ebay and is made in canada. the main reason he sells them without filler necks is that it's easier to ship them.
I thought the 65 tanks were different? Goodmark list them as two different tanks and the 66-67 dont have the necks.
I just spoke with my buddy and his gas tanks ALL come with filler necks. his parts book shows a different part number for 64-65 and 66-67 tanks. price is 150.00
