    Hi guys,

Looking for some info regarding disc brake conversions on a 66 GS. I have a local customer interested in doing a front disc brake conversion, with the later style master cylinder/prop valve. His main concern is that his 14x6 wheels apparently have a 4" offset to them, and he is having trouble finding wheels to go with the conversion. He is hesitant to go with later, less offset wheels, or 15" stuff, as he wishes to maintain the stock "look" for the car, and he is concerned about fender clearances. He is currently running a keystone mag on the car with 3" of offset, and 70 series tires which are similar in overall height to the stock tire combo, and has minimal tire clearance on the front fenders.

What have you guys done out there?

If you can describe your setups, parts used, wheels and tires ect, and any pictures would be very helpful.

    Thanks

    JW

The wheel he is running isn't exactly stock in apperance................
I use the 15 factory wheel that has the grove in it to clear the caliper.
I have not tried other wheels so my reference material is limited.
The 15 inch factory wheels look good on the 66 and are not really that noticeable. I have DiamondBack redlines, 225 on the front and 245 on the rear. Belive they are both 70 series.

PS That converter you did for me is awesome.

The Scarebird disc brake kit will let you run stock 14 in. rallye wheels. Search the threads and you will find plenty of info on this setup.
