Will a buick 350 be a bolt in, into the same location? What other engine can be used without changing frame mounts etc... thanks

I too have a 66 Skylark with a 340 and I was told that a 350 Buick would bolt in without issue, I have a 350 waiting in the wings but haven't made up my mind yet to build it (more goodies out there for it) or just rebuild my 340......looking at them both you should be able to drop a 350 Buick engine right in it, brackets and all are the same. :TU:

the 350 should bolt right in. probably have to use the 340 m/mts. question is are you using the oem trans or t350? keeping the oem trans will require some work on the gas linkage. everything else should bolt up.
i think you need to reuse the 340 pulleys for the belts, ie p/steering alignment.
exhaust should not be a problem. headers or if stock manifolds are use, have a nice y-pipe made up for it. low end torque was great. i did this for my 77 lark and it work real well.

well.....what are you waiting for ???

If you're going to replace the engine, why not the transmission also? You currently have the 2-speed ST300.

    Besides the 3-speed TH350, the 4-speed 200-4R is also a bolt-in job.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I will be keeping everything the way it is. There was a slight knocking noice, that turned out to be loose torque converter bolts
