66 401 lowering springs

    what can i use for the front on a 66 lark with a 401 can i use the small block ones or are they to light i want to use ebaich springs if possible

    try cutting about 3/4 of a coil off of your stock ones. we did this on a friends 76 monte carlo, it worked great. lowered it about 1 1/2", we used a hand held pnuematic cut off wheel. removing a coil also slightly stiffens the spring rate i have heard. the car rode nice afterwards. just cut the end that doesn't have a funny end to it if it has one at all. there usually isn't a pocket up top in the frame to sit in, just in the control arm. good luck.
