66 401 into a 69 Skylark?

    What issues would come up with attempting such a conversion? My immediate concerns are:

    1) Motor mounts/pads

    2) Throttle linkage

    3) Transmission selection

    Any answers for the above or anything I've missed? TIA.
    BTW, it's a 69 Skylark w/350. I'd rather move the engine and tranny to my 68 GS CA 350.

    NH Conversion in a 69 Skylark

    Is the 401 a GS engine. If so, the oil pan is ready. If from a big car this will be problem.

    Motor mounts are almost impossible to find. 3 hole chevy pads work fine with some work. The base plates will need to be home made. I can be done and someone was talking about that recently.

    Easy tranny would be ST300. Better is a NH 400 if you can find one.

    Just theoretical batting around of something different. I like how strong the block is and how clean it looks in an engine bay-as the pics in another thread show.
