Just got my 65 that I got from Jamie home. Great to do business with. I just felt bad for taking the last Buick that he had (in the northwest, or drivable ) away. Over 450 trouble free miles later and it's home! At least Jamie can know that it's got a good home. I think my daughter loves the car as much as me. I took her to the park before leaving Coeur D' Alene Idaho this morning and also stopped to let her play in some snow on the pass. She didn't want to ride in the truck with mom. She wanted to ride in dad's new "hot rod" even though I couldn't plug in her DVD player for the long drive home.
Glad to see it go to you David.Guys,Davids wife was a total trip!! I figured she would just hang out & wait for us to get it running & do our deal...WRONG...she was all over the car asking questions, noting how cool the halo top was, stuck her head in the trunk & commented on the lack of rust. She even commented on the lack of dents in the body. What a lucky guy you are David to have a "car-crazy" wife & daughter!:beer Too bad we didnt have much time to chat, see you in Puyallup this year(i hope).
David your a lucky man to own such a gorgous original cruizzer like that!! If that car wasn't so far away you wouldn't have had a chance in hell to get it first!!! This car looks amazing!!! I came real close to making Jamie an offer but just could't justify the 2000 hauling bill. Enjoy it Dave and Jamie you are the man!!!!
Jamie is a man of his word. Good things will happen for him in life. The car is gorgous. I would run it like it is. The car is smoking!!!!!!!! Get us some more pictures. Especially if you are going to do anything to it. Before and after pics.:beer
Those 14 in caps are the coolest looking cap ever. I bought a set cause they're so cool. White letter era cheater street tires and leave them caps right where they are Dave.
You sound like a guy I work with. He's telling me that him and his wife decided that I need to leave the car stock. It is cool as is and after I fix a few little things like get my buckets in and re cover the back bench and fix the heater controls, plus maybe upgrade the master cylinder to dual reservoir it is going to be stock for a while so that I can get the cash, parts and time together. I have plans of more power and more show though! Weather is suppose to be good tomorrow so after a little cleaning up from the road trip I will start getting pictures, then saturday is it's off to a car show. It's at the place that the guy that bought my old 67GS works at so I hope to be able to get a picture of the two cars together. Funny thing. I had the car out today after just getting it home yesterday evening and there are guys that I don't know and that have never seen the car before that knew where I lived when I talked to them just because I've always got at least one classic Buick at the house.
What's wrong with the heater controls?o No: I dont remember them being bad,a little stiff but they all are.p
It's a 45 year old car. They did work great the first half of the trip, then they quit working. It looks like the blue cable has had the attachment between the outside shield and the controls give out and I think the red one gave out on the other end. Not a big deal, it's just the type of thing that you expect to have come up with an old car. No complaint on my end. If I had wanted a car that wouldn't have things like this happen I wouldn't own an old car. I fully expect to have more things need fixed as it gets used.
