I have a 3:42 posi in my Cat and it "feels" like it needs to be rebuilt. The gears appear to be in good shape. Are there parts available for these rears to be rebuilt and where can I get them? I know the gears aren't available.

By "feels" I mean a mild bucking while turning. It is smooth while going straight, no howling on acceleration or decerleration. It has fresh fluid and the GM additive. I've done the multiple tight circles to get the additive to circulate and both wheels spin. The drive shaft from tranny to pumpkin has been rebuilt. I bought the rear from a board member and I would assume the rear has sat up for awhile.

    Thanks Rick

Rick-since nobody has anything to say...you could try another dose of posi additive. I believe the service manual calls for a wheel turning break torque # of around 75lbs with one side off the ground. This will give an idea of clutch performance. I like the '66 and on, since it's easier to pull the cover and check gear backlash-parts condition, ect. Since you have rare gears, maybe you should drop the punkin out and do a complete check-good luck

Thanks Dan. My buddy Dualqwad has come through with the parts. :TU: We can do a rebuild now.
