I want to override the switch pitch on my '65 while at a stop light. In other words I want to enrgize the S/P from the brake light switch. My question is which terminal on the switch on the carbs do I energize, the upper or the lower? Rick
Isn't the stock setup supposed to activate high stall at idle? The switch closest to the firewall does that, I believe. However, if you want to activate high stall from your brake light switch, that is simple. Find the brake light switch, it has 2 wires. One wire will be hot all the time, one will be hot with the brake pedal depressed. Tee into the wire that is hot when the pedal is depressed, then run that to the horizontal (stator connector)spade at the trans. When you step on the brake pedal, the converter will go to high stall.
but- dont leave the sp switch connected to the trans too, otherwise you will turn on the brake lights whenever the carb switch wants you in high stall allan
