I have a 65 special that I plan on putting a 75 455 into with the th400. I am thinking about some new rear gears later this summer. What goes in a stock 65 special rear and will a smogged up 455 hurt it to bad. I know its not ideal but can I get by with it, at least for a while.

    gears and rear

Yes you can get gears 3.55 and up NEW aftermarket. As long as you have the right hand thread bolts 3/8 size. They are expensive for the BOP rears. I can build a 8.5 cusotm for you that will hold up quite well if that interests you. It will have to be a month though -as I am booked on builds at the moment. It is spring and everyone is doing their last minute OOPS... I forgot this stuff. lol.

May should be better for me I hope. Take care, Jim

Do you know what rear end my 65 special has stock. I know year one has some gear sets for a 8.5 10 bolt. Is that what I have.

Stock rear depends on your car/engine/trannie combo. Some differences in Wagons vs sedans/ coupes..., v-6 vs v8, stick vs auto. Whadya got??
My memory ... whats left anyway... doesn't serve. Got to research it in the book.
