started a thread awhile ago askin for ideas , didn't bother lookin it up so here's a new one . excuse the car dust ! anyway , my stereo guy had me take a Honda antenna kit to try ( my oem mast was missing/toast ) and since my base assembly was not lookin too great anyway went ahead and cut 'er up and carefully ( very VERY carefully ) drilled out the center of my old base assy - pretty thin but seems solid . think I'm gonna put a couple dabs of JB on the bottom where they go together and cut down the Honda chrome trim nut to use as a top lock . not resto but probably gonna be decent lookin option and work good . will have to make up a pad for under the chrome teardrop too . and hey - fender back on , startin to look like a car again .
Just for future reference you can buy the correct mast here and it is very nice for $45.00 http://www.fusickautomotiveproducts.com/prodinfo.asp?number=569310
good to know . thanks . yeah it cost me $10 to fix , good tinker project . right fender on pretty well , left not so pretty . I think I got my shims mixed .
